Digital Retinal Camera

Our retinal camera photographs the interior surface of eye, including the retina, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole (i.e. the fundus). It’s used for monitoring progression of a disease, diagnosis of a disease.

Fundus photography is used to detect and evaluate symptoms of retinal detachment or eye diseases such as glaucoma. In patients with diabetes, regular fundus examinations (once every 6 months to 1 year) are important to screen for diabetic retinopathy as visual loss due to diabetes can be prevented by retinal laser treatment if retinopathy is spotted early.

Tonometry

We have 3 ways to check for high intraocular pressure (IOP), which is essential part of glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease that can cause blindness by damaging the nerve in the back of the eye (optic nerve). Damage to the optic nerve may be caused by a buildup of fluid that does not drain properly out of the eye.

Optopol PTS 925W Perimeter

Our Automatic Visual Fields is used for detecting, evaluating, monitoring ocular and neurologic disorders affecting the visual system. Peripheral vision loss may be useful in detecting eye diseases such as glaucoma, and the pattern loss can be helpful in differentially diagnosing various other ocular disorders such as diabetes and brain tumors.

PlusOptix Screener

The PlusOptix takes digital photos and measurements of a child’s eye, from a comfortable distance. It’s as easy as having their picture taken. Every child that is not already treated by an eye care professional should take part in a vision screening regularly. Our office recommends first screening at or around a child’s third birthday. A vision screening should be repeated regularly for eyes changing with growth and new vision disorders may occur anytime.
